Hey all,

I have two different speaker sets, a 2.1 and a 5.1, and I was wondering if there's any way I can connect both to my PC as separate outputs so that I can swap between them when I need to. My 5.1 set is located next to my Living Room TV which I use as another monitor, and my 2.1 set is on my desk with my Computer Monitor. My motherboard has the 3 standard blue/green/pink audio jacks in the back, and thus far I've been swapping the two speaker sets by physically swapping the plugs back and forth. Is there a better way, like say some kind of splitter that will allow me to plug in both at once and have them register as separate playback devices that I can swap between?

You can get an external (USB) sound adapter, and connect one of the sets to it. Then, you use Windows' Sound Properties to select where the sound goes.
