Just bought a Sony Bravia xbr65x930e 4K smart tv, and I have a bose lifestyle 321 system with the two speakers. They told me at Best Buy to buy a hdmi cable and connect it from the bose to the hdmi arc. I did so and no sound at all... any advice please???

Did you turn ARC on in the TV menu? Did you select ARC as your source on the Bose?
Both the TV and the Bose would have to have ARC for it to work. The Bose may not have it.
Your other options are to use the optical audio or headphone output from the TV to the Bose. Check the TV manual on how to use them. You may have to go into the TV menu to turn them on, turn the TV speakers off, and change the audio output type to get it working.
