Question Connecting old Panasonic DVD player to new QLED Samsung TV with HDMI cable—no audio

The DVD Player was part of a Home Theatre Sound System SC-PT750. I don’t want the speakers hooked up. I have the DVD player connected directly to the TV and get perfect video but no sound. A Samsung technician helped me check the tv settings to receive audio and they’re correct. I am sure there is nothing wrong with the DVD player itself. Help please. ( I’m not very techy.)

Did you check the manual to the Panasonic system to see if you needed to change anything to route audio not to the speakers attached to it but to the HDMI output? Check page 24

Prob have to use a Fiber hookup for sound, have you tried that ?
