Connecting samsung TV to samsung sound bar

I've just bought a Samsung hw j 750 sound bar to go with my Samsung ue55ju6500 TV and I can't connect them. The sound bar was a floor model.... I've tried connection through arc, Bluetooth and auxiliary, nothing seems to work. I've tried pressing the play button on the remote to reset it, nothing...anynet+ can't see anything ....help

I never had much luck with ARC on my Samsung bar, I ended up having to go with the optical output on the tv to the optical input on the sound bar.

Did you turn on ARC in the TV menu?
Is the HDMI cable you used old? Make sure the cable supports ARC.
I don't see your TV having an analog audio out so how did you connect to the aux input?
Try the optical out as azaran suggests,

The hdmi cable is about a year old, but the TV cant see it so I'm guessing it's the cable
