connecting tv to soundboard

is it possible to connect a Panasonic tv to a Panasonic soundboard using the SPDIF port on the tv and the Optical port on the soundboard ?

Yes but make sure that the TV will output in a compatible format for the soundboard. If the SPDIF on the TV isn't optical you would need a converter.
