connection problem with samsung grand 2 and laptop via usb

my samsung grand 2 is not recognosed/detected on my windows 7 laptop via usb although the bluetooth is recognised and it will charge the phone without problem. also is there a version of samsung kies that will work for the grand 2 pls?

There are only two versions of Kies depending on which phone model you have.

Go here and try the other version to what you already have tried: http://www.samsung.com/uk/support/usefulsoftware/KIES/

Remove existing version first just in case it conflicts with new version.
