Connections with home cinema system

Hi everyone!I have an Acer aspire 7720z and I want to ask you if I can connect this laptop to a home cinema system through a s/pdif connection.

On the laptop is noted "Dolby Digital Live" and producer declare there is an optical output: Headphone/speaker/line-out jack with S/PDIF support.

I need that connection only for playing audio files.Thank you very much!
