Controllable Antivirus Software?

I want an antivirus program that lets me be in charge of my computer... no sudden scans and updates going on that slow me down and cause problems. Is there a product I can buy that allows ME to decide when scans and updates should happen?

Sadly more and more companies are taking away those options. Kind of like 10 does. Granted, the average user kind of needs the auto run options in the case of antivirus, but not all of us do.

Just get superantispyware its free, catches almost every current virus and malware and will only do the scans when you want too. The extra crap is when you pay for it 😛
