Converting from rca to hdmi back to rca

I have an hdmi wall jack to connect my entertainment center to another room in the house.
Can I convert the rca cables on my media player to hdmi to plug into the wall jack then convert the hdmi back to rca on the other end?

Two similar adapters (no converter needed) HDMI to RCA might work (it depends on the adapter, if assigning different pin to each RCA wire)
