Converting Videos to HD

I have a full HD ready monitor but no HD movies!!! Do you think I can convert these AVI videos to full HD movies? The videos should have HD QUALITY!!! Can I use a software? If yes then which one??

nope the source has to be HD you cant convert avi to HD.

Hey, I got the same problem lol.
I tried using some converters like DivX converter or AVS to 1080p but the quality got worst. So I'm trying to figure out how to get HD movies cause I don't got a blu ray drive on my computer yet.
I'll let you know if I figure anything out.

You cant take something and make it better.
It has to be HD to start with.

A fairly easy way to tell if it is HD is by the size of the file. Hd will be much bigger than normal.
