[citation][nom]ssalim[/nom]The blame lies squarely upon the mother's shoulder for spoiling her kid(s). Dont want to take shower and scream/kick/cry? Wow that's ONE SPOILED BRAT!However, she does not deserve a taser unless she threatens the cop's life, which apparently the cop thought his penis was all that's left in his life. No offense.[/citation]

On one side:
(If I was one of her parents)
I would ban the kid from taking a shower for 2 weeks, and lock the bathroom door to enforce it. Once she loses all her friends in school cos she stinks, she will listen next time she is told to take a shower.

On the other side:

When I was 13, I didnt need my parents to tell me when to take a shower. Hell, my parents wouldnt of forced me to take a shower even if i needed one. they would of said something like
"you wanna smell, thats your problem" and left me to it. most teenagers in school do NOT want to smell.

Seems like this girls mum is single, and in need of parenting lessons/advice/counseling.

[citation][nom]MADOGRE[/nom]I agree the cop did the right thing, as a dad of 2 I would have no problem with this, but I would naver have called the cops in the first place, my belt > taser any day[/citation]

You think hitting a kid with a belt is a good solution? Especially a girl? thats called abuse in my book.

A smack round the back of the legs, or on the hand is fair enough and something I have no problem with, when the kids are younger. but for a fully grown man to hit a 13 year old girl (i.e. teenager) with a belt? thats just wrong.

sorry, substitute 10 for 13 in my last post. Doesnt change my opinion - 10 year olds generally dont want to smell in school either, and hitting with belts is also wrong.

[citation][nom]eddieroolz[/nom]You clearly have no clue what a military state is. Please hit up some readings on East Germany, or if you want to immerse yourself in it, then visit North Korea.[/citation]

Read some yourself. Look at what East Germany used to be and North Korea is and really look at today's police. It's well on its way with a good headstart. Take it in small steps and idiots like you will never see it coming but I hate to break it to you...it is here already.

[citation][nom]FlamingGerbil[/nom]Oh. Dear. I bet you're a conspiracy theorist.[/citation]

No...I am someone who clearly possesses more intelligence than you.
I don't believe in trading my rights as an American for this so called "protection" that is being offered.

Tazers shouldn't be used as a means of control. They should only be used as an alternative to firearms.

[citation][nom]mofogo[/nom]She obviously was not beaten enough at 2-9 years old.But seriously. How is a guy supposed to subdue a grown man if he can't subdue a 10 year old girl.[/citation]

Come on, you never worked with children! Adults know what "consequence" means.

*insert yourself here* scream throw tantrum kick cop in the nuts.

What would you expect to happen? For me I'd expect a pepper spraying, a Taser or a billy club to the head.

10 year old or not.. what she did was unacceptable.. The cop has limited options. What if she bites him ala mike tyson when hes subduing her? I think the taser was the safest method here.

Maybe pepper spray but those could have collateral damage etc.

In my opinion the mother should have been tasered for allowing her 10 yr old to behave that way. This is why kids need dads. :) A good dad would deal with it.

[citation][nom]sstym[/nom]by a 10-year-old girl using her feet and fists?Give me a break.I'm not sure a cop who can't handle an unarmed 10-year-old without a taser can call himself a cop. This reminds me of that other incident:Just because you can use it and it probably won't cause long term damage doesn't mean it's appropriate for any case.[/citation]

Uh ever hear of sarcasm ?

That being said the only person not at fault in this situation is the 10 year old, sure she may have been a little brat but shes is not the adult in the situation. Seriously who the hell calls the cops on their 10 year old daughter and who on earth would tazer a little kid this whole situation is fucked up and it makes me sick.

What is wrong with you people? Any mother who advocates using a brutal form of punishment on her child like tasering is likely a serious child abuser already. Parents like her call the cops because the routine smackings have lost their effect and the child has begun to fight back by balling up into a fetal position and sobbing. This would be a defensive, not offensive posture. If a normal police officer had walked in on such a scene, he would have called child protective services to come over and do a complete investigation. You have no idea what is up here, yet you judge a 10 year old child whose primary crime was to throw a tantrum on the floor? Violence is a learned behavior and there is something seriously wrong. Too many parents in America beat their children and too many call the cops - we try kids as "adults" at the drop of a hat, but they have no guarantee of protection against these viscious brutes who call themselves parents. That cop's recklessness and dereliction of duty left burn marks on a small child's back - something that we would normally condemn - if he used a cigarette instead of a taser, you'd all be calling for his head. She was then handcuffed, shackled and strip-searched and imprisoned with children who have serious criminal records - thereby guranteeing a lifetime of problems. Getting tasered will not cure what ails this kid - it just taught her that she has no legal recourse to abuse and that bigger people can brutally abuse her at will. Nice. Really nice.

^^^ AGREED , if we are not responsible for our next generation we will reap what we sow and when society slow falls deeper into this shithole we have dug ourselves maybe tazering our children wont be a laughing matter.

Why was the cop trying to arrest the girl? For refusing to take a shower? Ridiculous.
