Could I play games on this puppy?

I am looking to break into some PC gaming. I am searching for a laptop that is cost effective and can play most games at a reasonable level. I am a complete amateur in this field an all the specs and choices are confounding me.

I think I have found one that could be for me but I would like some advice from those in the know.

That laptop doesn't have a dedicated graphics card so it won't play most games well/at all. What's you're budget?

on amazon it says it has a ATI Mobility Radeon HD 6550M graphics card.

My budget is $750 max.

This one is better, but a bit more expensive.

I'm not great with the laptop graphics cards compared to desktops, so i can't help you on that front. Sorry.

Couple of things about this one. 1) it is refurbished
2) it is big and heavy

Any experience with the G73?

Many laptops don't have dedicated graphic card and use those integrated in the CPU. That laptop should game relatively well.

I'm going to ignore you now...

Anyway, back on topic. The reviews for the G73 make it out to be pretty good. BF3 runs at 30-35 FPS at 1280x720 apparently. The weight/refurbished issue is up to you. But if you're that worried about it being refurbished, they offer an extended warranty. I would go for the G73 if you can afford it.
