I hope to gain some insight here on what is causing the lag i'm seeing with this laptop, New it had Win 8.1 64 bit installed. I have the bare minimum of applications installed (MS Office, AVG Virus, and a couple of video ripping programs) and noticed the lag big time in the output files from ripping my DVD collection. The playback would lag 2 sec and then speed up to keep in sync with the audio. I wiped out 8.1 and installed Win7 and the lag improved on video playback which means the transcoding improved. All drivers are updated and no operational issues or crashes.
I also notice the lag with my wireless mouse and keyboard. As I'm typing or using the mouse the system will lag and miss a keystroke or the mouse will pause for a second. Its almost as if the CPU was buffering for a second.
Stability wise the system has been solid. I can playback videos ripped on a different PC and no lag is visible and the audio stays in sync. There is no over heating issues, it sits on a laptop cooling stand.
