Digital art is great, don't get me wrong. Photoshop is amazing. But to many people, there's no way you can ever replace something that you actually use your hands to do, especially when it comes to art. Using a tablet just doesn't feel like using a pencil, or paint, or whatever.
Using this is never really going to feel like pottery. You'll be getting the results, but not the feel.
There's no feedback; nothing tangible. It's one thing to move your hands around and watch a picture change, it's another to build the pottery as you go along.

Exactly, it's the same reason the Wii sucks. Without feedback you'd normally get from an object or force resisting your input, then it's rather vapid.
When it comes down to it, you'd have a much easier time constructing this in 3D or CAD program. Not to mention the poly count on that seems a bit low. NURBS would make more sense for an organic shape like that.
