My computer recently was attacked by the Cryptowall 3.0 Virus & Malware. I am in the process of replacing parts as the virus deleted my backups, and I wasn't super smart about backing up my computer. So regardless, my question is: Can my GPU can still be salvaged? Thank you.

Malware isn't really that smart enough to affect GPUs yet, but it is quite possible.

If I am not mistaken, Cryptowall is a type of Ransomware virus, so you should be able to save the GPU. Ransomware , from what I know, do not affect GPUs, but instead they basically encrypt your files and force you to pay a ransom to decrypt the files.

So assuming the GPU was affected, god forbid, what would be my course of action? I just don't want to have a repeat of the virus.

If you dont need any files on the machine i dont understand why you would 'salvage' your parts. Just do a clean install and it should do the trick. I had an infected computer 1 week back and i changed the hdd reinstalled windows and everything is fine now.
