If the tray won't come out, it sounds like it died. Open the computer case and make sure both cables going into the CD-ROM drive are firmly plugged in.
Do you know for sure what the D drive was? D drive is most commonly reserved for your DVD-ROM drive. Or do you have a custom build and that was a hard drive that used to show up?
It's not my computer, but I was told it worked before. I checked the BIOS and it's enable. I also did the device management and rescan hardware and devices. Still no d drive for cd rom.
