Im trying to get an rough idea about the megapixel roadmap for canon, since a 8 MP
350D was released this month.

Im thinking its taken them 3 years to progress from 6 to 8.

it was announced in February of 2002. the 20D was announced in August
of 2004 (which is 8 megapixels)

(You're forgetting the 1Ds and 1Ds mk2<g>.)

www.dpreview.com under their Cameras menu has the release date for most
cameras.
