Solved! Damaged arc outlet

My arc output was damaged by cable being caught my sound bar won’t give sound from any other hdmi output is there and way of getting around this please?

Replace the HDMI board if the TV has one or use the optical audio output instead. Optical and ARC are equal in sound quality so no trade off there.

Unfortunately the tv has no optical output it is a Panasonic plasma 7 years old can a normal hdmi be changed in settings to become an arc output?

No it can't.
Does the TV have coax digital audio out that can be converted to optical? Does it have analog audio outputs?
Use them if it does.
