Deleted outlook account and have now lost all contact numbers

My email wasn't working on my iphone and after re-entering password etc i decided to delete my outlook and then re-add it. Upon doing this 90% of my contact numbers are now missing?
Any help in recovering my contacts would be greatly appreciated!

Did you sync it with your account? log into outlook.com and see if the contacts are there.
If not, they are gone.
