Dell 15 7000 frozen

Laptop stopped working midway playing rainbow 6. The only thing that functioned was the mouse. I managed to exit the game but got stuck on the home screen.
Cant turn it off using the power button. Cant put it to sleep either.
Is there a quick fix for this?

Don't see why the power button will not shut it off, you may just need to hold it in for longer. If it really does not work even if you hold in the power button for 10+ seconds, remove the battery.

Yeah I did end up removing the battery. It works fine now. Thanks for the reply.
