Dell b130 screen goes blank

Hello,
my laptop can be working fine and then all of a sudden I get a white or blue screen with colored lines going thru it... if I manually shut down it will come back on and sometimes I can close it and the screen will come back up normally. How do I know if it's my video card or maybe a cable in the hinges?

Does it do the same thing on an external monitor? What do your CPU and GPU temperatures look like? Are you using the latest drivers? Are you doing something intensive just before it breaks?
