Hi all. The battery on Latitude E5430 (model number T54FJ) is dead, but I have another battery, which is less in capacity (model number 8858x), but still, should be the same in size and the connectors seem to be in the proper place. Can I replace it with one? Is it safe?

P.S. I'm sure it's in the proper forum category, but if it's not, I'm sorry.

I just now installed it in a different laptop, and it was not charged, but it's charging, and it seems to be working. I'm still going to give it a more thorough test, but... are you saying that it's not a good idea to use the different battery? Why so?

The other laptop will be connected to the power outlet most of the time, if not all the time. So I don't care about that laptop as much. Thanks.

The battery fits in just fine, the connectors are connected, both are 11.1V, no info about amperes on both, so I think they are fine.

If for some reason it's best to use the stock battery, what is that reason then?

Thanks for the replies

if you gone use it on battery it will stay on for a longer period also it is always best option to get the maker battery for compatibility .
