Hello Experts,

We own a Dell Inspiron 14R N4010 model laptop. After 1 year of purchase, the display started blinking intermittently and display turns off for close to 1 hour and comes automatically. Its purely random. While the display if off, if we connect to external monitor, it works fine on external monitor . Looking at some of the articles here, we have replaced the complete LED Panel. For sometime, (close to 6 months ) it was fine. Again the same display problem started.

My simple questions are :

Is it a software/hardware problem?
If it was a LCD hardware problem / mother board problem, would it be detected by BIOS POST ?
How can I troubleshoot further?

Thanks
Balaram.

is not a software issue as the external monitor doesn't do it so the onboard videocard is good. it could be the video cable from the motherboard to the screen is causing the problem so to test it move the screen back & forth to see if it cuts out or not.
