Dell inspiron 15 7577 inconsistent performance

The laptop sometimes gives 60 fps in battlefield 1 and sometimes slightly below 30 fps. Does the same in every game. Not sure what's wrong. This happens after I close and reopen the lid. When the laptop is underperforming, the fans barely work and temperature doesn't even go up. Can someone please help me with this?. I used DDU and reinstalled the gpu driver but nothing's changed. Power mode is on best performance, nvidia experience battery boost is off by the way.

Hi. Yesterday while I was playing warhammer 2, I think after alt-tabbing couple times my fps dropped quite a bit. Then I installed a driver or two. One of the drivers I installed was actually an older version's driver, 7559. The dell website suggested this version's drivers after I entered in my service tag. Not sure if this is the problem though.
And now the fan speed is very low, temperatures are very low, fps doesn't exceed 30 in battlefield 1 (it was 60 fps 2 days ago).
My computer's power mode is on best performance and the power boost in nvidia experience is turned off. The gpu driver is 388.something. So, I have no clue what's wrong. I had this problem when I first tried to play battlefield 1. I fixed the problem by turning off the power boost but right now I don't know what causes the problem. Any ideas?
