Dell Inspiron 1545 HD upgrade

Hello new to posting here, but old at reading the awesome posts on this site.

Quick question for you regarding my old Dell Inspiron 1545 laptop.

I've decided to upgrade it's HDD with a refurbished Seagate SSHD. I've ordered it and the SATA to USB connector so I can clone it. I just find out it will accept 64 bit Win 10 (currently running 32 bit).

Should I install Win 10 64 bit on the new SSHD then transfer all the old HDD stuff to it? Or should I just clone it and call it a day?

I've never done this before so I'm not sure if the new SSHD needs an OS before the clone will work if if by cloning it, it will also install the current 32 bit OS.

Just looking for advice please.

for me the best option is always to do a clean install on a new drive.with cloning sometimes u might run into problems and complication.

I also have a Dell 1545 and i took it out of hibernation today to find there is no hard drive after i turned it on. Please could you kindly give me your valuable experience as to what i can do? I hope so. Please reply? Thanks. Jenny
