I have a Dell Inspiron 525 with a DG33M06 Motherboard that I can't get the sound to work on at all. The issue is where the chip doesn't even show up at all. I have tried all the Realtek High Definition Audio Drivers and can't get the sound card to even register. I do have money to buy a cheap sound card if there happens to be a need to. I am truly sorry if there has already been a thread posted with this same issue, but when I searched, I came up with no results.

I will try that, originally I tried Dell's drivers to no avail. I'll reply back if it worked or not.

What I have tried so far includes the following:

  • • I tried seeing if Ubuntu can recognize the card, didn't work.

    • Installed Windows with audio turned off in BIOS and then turned back on,
recognized the High Definition Audio Controller and installed, still not working.

High Definition Audio Controller Information:

General:
  • Device type: System devices
    Manufacturer: Microsoft
Location: PCI bus 0, device 27, function 0

I tried the Intel drivers and they didn't work either.

It is not disabled in BIOS and Windows recognizes the setting as the "High Definition Audio Controller" device will be shown/hidden correspondingly in Device Manager. It still won't recognize the card though.

I have found a solution that is, well, a little convoluted but it will work. Thank you for the alabalcho! I truly appreciate it.

What I did to "fix" it:

1. I found a program called "iDisplay" which uses your Android device as a sencondary display.
2. Installed program on both devices.
3. Ran it and had it stream audio only through USB.
4. Connect 3.5mm Auxilary cable to phone.
5. Have audio play through "Headphones" or in this case my HP w2007 that has built in speakers.
6. PROFIT!
