Dell Inspiron 8600 Power Up Problem

Hello All,

I'm trying to find a fix for my computer, a Dell Inspiron 8600.

It runs XP with 2 GB DRAM. I upgraded the HDD from 60 GB to 250 GB YESTERDAY. I partitioned the drive so that the primary drive is under the BIOS limitation. The remaining memory was assigned to drive E: .

It was working fine only a couple of hours ago. I shut the cover to put it in hibernation mode while running errands and now it won't turn on at all: NO screen, NO lights flash, NO fan or any other signs of life.

I tried taking out the battery and putting it back in and waiting 10 seconds with no luck. The light on the top that usually flashes isn't.

Please please please don't tell me it's the motherboard.

Any help/guidance you may provide is very much appreciated.
