Dell RAM Upgrade

I have a Laptop DELL 3542 with 2GB nVIDIA GRAPHICS 820M and 4GB Ram , I am confused to have it a 8GB RAM or remain to 4GB as previous, will it increase the clockspeed and if does then by how much.

It won't increase the clock speed of anything in the system just by adding more RAM. It will allow the system to run more programs at the same time smoother however, but won't do much to improve overall speed. You also need to have a 64 bit operating system which most systems have now.
