Denon AVR-1601

I have Denon AVR-1601 receiver for repair. When you switch it on it stars
displyng test messages, than goes to standby. Any experience with the
problem?

When there is a part damaged, such as a transistor, the receiver shuts itself off to prevent further damage.
Go to service center.

^Yes, modern receivers, amps, and preamps have a lot of self-preservation methods that they use.

So to the OP: IF something is damaged, something shorts out, it overheats...etc...the receiver will shut itself off and some receivers even provide some sort of way to communicate the problem to you.

I solved the problem already. R141, R142 were open. You can,t see it, you have to
measure. I've learned it is the common problem in Denon receivers and Denon specialists are aware of that. You have to replace 1 Ohm, 0,5 W with 0,5 Ohm, ! W.
Now I have another problem. Receiver works if you connect linear output to tape
input and switch "tape monitor 'on'". I don't know why. I can't find a good user manual, just the two pages one. Any ideas?
