my DCM280 is new (mfg. july 2004)

it plays mp3 files on 80mm 200mb tiny mini disks sony CDR "FLAWLESS
for hours"
but will never play an mp3's on full size 80 minute 700mb disks
TDK 52x. 80m 700mb almost work. other brands are dead.
it will either not play, skip tracks or abort tracks mid play.

using: same song set ( 60 files no folders )
using same Nero 6.3.125 ( express cdr mp3 burn and manual burn all
9660 modes)
using SOny CRX195e1 burner.

If I take same data set and set up, & burn a new 80mm tiny disks , it
plays
so this proves my data and method is correct, only the media is
different.

is there a calibration to fix this.

Lazer beam focus? and where is it on the head? if anyone knows.

after 20 burns , all 118mm disks fail 280 and all disks play on all
other mp3 devices.
I tried every nero 9660 permutation as a test, level 1 and 2 mode 1
and 2.
even played with MS-joliet (on and off)

FYI: I just love my RCA RP8078 ( plays them all and displays titles )

any help , thanks! jtgh

The problem is not your Denon DCM-280, it's the 700 MB format. 650s are
the safest bet for most compatibilty. If you don't really need the extra
6 minutes, or could perhpas sacrifice a few less MP3s per disk, just
stick with 650 MB CDRs.
