I've got my desktop computer working as my home entertainment system. My motherboard is a gigabyte gaming 5 which has, so it tells me, a good sound card onboard. It's got all sorts of fancy features that I don't understand at all such as dedicated usb ports for audio equipment that do something fancy and something called an op amp and 10 DAC channels! It all sounds great.

Here's the link to the MOBO info page:

I want to buy these speakers:

https://www.amazon.ca/gp/aw/d/B00064JWSG/ref=mp_s_a_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1504075791&sr=8-1&pi=AC_SX236_SY340_QL65&keywords=Fluance+AVHTB&dpPl=1&dpID=41LG4RH6-PL&ref=plSrch#productDescription_secondary_view_div_1504075980561

I don't have a receiver, I don't want to pay too much either as those speakers are already fairly expensive. Is there any way to just add amps to those speakers and use my soundcard to do the audio processing? And if so, how?

Solution
You can add a 5 channel amp for those speakers but it would cost you much more than a new AV receiver even used.
If you can get an old pre-HDMI AV receiver with discrete analog audio inputs that would work well with those speakers and not cost too much. Check out Craigslist, ebay and local thrift shops.
