My alienware m18x:
i7-2829QM CPU
2 460M video cards
16 GB ram
windows 7 64 bit
is currently having problems running Diablo 3. the game crashes after an hour some times or it takes 2 hours to crash. my GPU temperatures reach an average of 85C and my CPU reaches about 160F (whatever the conversion is).
Could it be due to overheating and if it is whats a good way to solve the problem?
i have only had this problem with diablo 3 recently.

Can you disable one of the 460m? It could be a problem with the multi-GPU setup, SLI. Try running a single card and see if that helps. One 460m should be more than enough to crank out D3 at max or near max.

I've heard this has been a problem. Have you checked to see if your video cards needed an update? While I didn't have the same specs I had the same problem and this fixed it for me.

In some cases, the temperature might be too high, if the computer crashes completely. Try the newest beta drivers if the newest production ones don't fix the problem.

if its just a game crash, it may be a software related issue or sli related issue. if the computer shuts down, then its a temperature issue(computers are usually set to either automatically shut down at around 100-105 celcius or have it deactivated, laptops usually have this on)
