I was removing capacitors from a printed circuit board, The last capacitor was impossible to remove no matter how long I kept the soldering iron on it. I finally got it out but one of the solder points still had the metal leg in it from the capacitor , I tried everything to get it out without any luck, I finally drilled the solder point with the smallest drill bit I had to open the hole. I found a metal sleeve on the shank of my drill bit that had come out of the hole I had drilled. Have I just destroyed this circuit board or can it be repaired ? Thanks

Solution
Just make sure that when you insert the new capacitor you solder it to the circuit trace on the other side of the board where they old one made contact. Make sure you did not lift the trace in the other side. You can repair it with wire if needed.
