did my old laptop hdd just failed?

maybey 5 old laptop...
its any dell n504..it booting up with black screen.i can boot with dvd,butt it wont boot with normal boot.tried f8=last known good configuration WITH NO LUCK..Ihavent done reformat or reinstalled windows yet..i cant do online diagnostics,cuse windows wont boot.i guess my hdd failed or soon to be fail..
Bios can detect hdd

For some reason, I can't really open up the screenshots.(most probably blocked)
Could you just say what they are about or upload them in another website?

As your system can't boot, you should either work with DOS tools or to attach the drive to another, working system. You can do so with SATA to USB adapter.

First, you can try to retrieve your data and after that you can just test the drive and see what is wrong with it.

If you can boot with a dvd, does that mean the dvd can write or ready to write the operating system in your hdd? If so, then your hdd is not dead yet. It's alive.

it wont write anything.it just gets stuck at 0% with installing w7.tryed on ohter pc and got w7 installed in 1 hour..
however it still shows how much space is used on hdd and how much free storage on hdd
