ActiveSync is needed to synchronize the data on your PocketPC with your
desktop computer (that is to say, files, notes, documents, contacts,
appointments, e-mails etc. as generated by the built-in applications and
Outlook); IntelliSync isn't ;) It does however claim to do the job better.
ActiveSync: around 20MB harddrive space needed, free of charge
IntelliSync: needs around 65 MB, costs US-$65.99, and requires ActiveSync
to operate anyway.

It has been a while since I used Intellisync, but it also syncs with
programs other than Outlook, like Lotus Notes and others.
