digital analog converter not working

I have a new Samsung smart tv and an old Cyrus Amp. I purchased a convertor which works when I watch certain inputs like Sky tv but some music and I think Netflix it doesn't work and white noise at full volume comes out of the speaker. is there any this I can do so I can listen through the speaker for everything.

Your converter may not be compatible with 5.1 digital audio. Change the audio output type in the TV audio menu or get a DAC that is compatible like this one.
