[Discussion] Slow laptop solutions and mods

We all know cheap Laptops are awful. Unfortunately I'm stuck using a laptop with a dual core 1.3Ghz Processor - Awful hard drive - and 6GBs or ram.

I am running Lubuntu. But it's still unbearably slow.

So TH. What OSes, solutions and mods do you use for slow laptops?

nothing can be done.............you might wanna upgrade to xp..........but dont go for win7 on such a system
