Disk drive access indicator turns off and laptop freezes

Hello,
I have recently purchased a new laptop Acer aspire 5755G (about 2 months ago) and have been having a problem with it.

About once a day, at seemingly random times, the laptop will completely freeze and the flashing HDD light on the front of the machine will go out.

The laptop will not respond to any keyboard inputs or mouse movements. The only thing to do is to hold down the power button and force shutdown.

Any idea what may be causing this? or if i should try and return to the manufacturer?

Probably a good idea to send it back to Acer to be fixed/replaced. I bought that same model and while it was slow with the included 5400 RPM drive, it didn't ever quit responding like that.

Two months old. Definitely send it to the manufacturer.
