Display goes blank after 3-5 seconds at startup

Hello,
laptop dropped from about a foot. Possibly hit a the corner of the machine. Now when powered flashes the display then goes dark after 3-5 seconds. Changed display same symptoms.

Does the same happen if you hook up an external monitor? Could have damaged something internally.

Hello deathengine, I am trying to fix this laptop for a friend?, after I dropped it/it fellout of the case. I have a week left to get an answer and make the repair. Did you have any success making the repir. If so what was your solution, please. Edkersey2003@yahoo.com
