Do I need a microphone?

I'm going to buy headphones that don't have a microphone. I want to occasionally use a microphone to talk to people online. What type of separate microphone should I buy with my headphones? I really don't want anything too pricey. I'm hoping to spend around $10-$30. I'd like something simple with a stand if possible.

Another question. If I were to go with the TELEX M-40, what type of pop filter would I need? Could I just buy those miniature foam filters and stick it onto the microphone and replace every month or so?

I found these for $30. It's Sony brand, the same as the headphones I'm getting. They are called the Sony ECMPC60. This looks really nice, will it work with gaming and voice chat?
