Solved! do i need an amp for sennheiser game one

Hi, Guys, I thinking to get a game one for gaming on my pc, I have done some research, people said depend on your mother board,
My mother board is asus maximus VII Hero,

I don't see that your board has an integrated headphone amp. Your best bet is to try it as is. If the Game One doesn't get loud enough with the onboard audio then you can add a sound card with an amp or an external amp.

Is an amp expensive ? I normally just use for gaming , so I don’t feel like I want to depend 150 for a headset and still have to spent 150 for a amp

You can get a cheap soundcard with an amp in the $30 range.

You can also easily spend $10,000 on an amp. So it's all in what you're looking for.

I know game one is like 40bucks more , but should I consider the HyperX alpha or just stay with the game one

Sennheiser makes audio equipment. Some of the best in the world. Kingston makes keyboards. I know which one I'd pick.

The Game One will also sound good with music.

Motherboard will drive low-ohm phones, i.e. 16/32. Headphones in the hundreds of ohm range will probably require an ext amp.
