Does BIOS beeps if northbridge is fried? I want to be sure that there's something wrong with the nVIDIA 8400M GS BGA IC chip as Im ordering one from ebay! Thanks!

That isn't a northbridge, it's a GPU. Notebooks will not beep if the GPU is damaged.

Yes, perhaps my post was very badly written. What I meant was that my nVIDIA GPU is dead and I opened my laptop to see whether there's damaged something more than GPU. On closer inspection I noticed that my nb looks suspiciously dark and I thought that it could be fried as well so I posted here to find out whether laptop would beep if nb is fried. Now I have found out that BIOS ain't gonna beep if nb is fried, but mine laptop beeps - 1 long, 2 short meaning that it is a video error, nb is fine & I should order nVIDIA replacement chip. Thanks anyway!

Interesting. I've never met a notebook that beeps if the GPU is dead.

If you end up replacing it successfully, you could do a write-up on it.
