Does LED change your gaming experience?

I've recently purchased a custom computer from toshiba, and from my research it's a pretty good buy, but what concerns me is the fact that it has a LED backlit screen. One of my family members has a computer with an LED screen and when I tired league of legends on it, the abilities wouldn't show up. And I plan on playing league and other games. Maybe it was his computer or settings.
