Yeah only very few options (mainly Apple) have FireWireB/F800, all DELLs are FirewireA/400. And having bought and pretty much troubleshot my Friend's 9400, I can guaranteee it's a firewireA mini-plug connection.
Most companies are bypassing F800 for eSATA, it's mainly for external storage, and eSATA is faster and a more natural blend it seems. They keep the basic and cheap FirewireA for legacy support of things like DV cameras and other such items which are still in high use.
