Does Pre-Installed Windows 8 key work again?

Hello, I recently bought a new HDD because the old had some corrupted files and some of the areas stopped working. Since i have an Ultrabook laptop and can not insert CD, I have to download an Windows 8 ISO file and put on USB and install it from there. After installing the Windows from USB, my question is does the Pre-Installed key that came with my laptop still works? Are there any other ways? Please let know. Thank you very much.

Is it the same version that was installed?

As long as you will install the same version that you had pre-installed on your laptop (Home Edition, Proffesional, Enterprise), you should be able to re-use it with no problems.

So I have to to install the same Windows ISO version(Home premium, Professional etc) and I am able to re-use the key ?

Well if its not embedded in the BIOS its not going to activate

Depending on how old this is some keys are in the BIOS itself. Thats why you cant find it. If it is then it should pick up your install or something. And activate it if its the right key for the right version of Windows

But if it isnt well you cant activate it

thank you it worked i installed the iso but i didnt have to give the key. It was automativ activated. Thank you all who commented on this to help me.
