Solved! Does ram need to match the processor

I'm looking to replace my ram in a new laptop I got. My laptop runs 6gb of ram and has an i3 processor in it.. I want to run 2 8gb sticks that should work HOWEVER the ram I want to run says "for 6th Generation Intel Core i5 and i7 notebooks" will that make a difference if I'm running an i3 processor?

ram has to match the exact type of processor & motherboard in laptops it drr4 laptop ram tho try to find specs for when upgrading you can melt your laptop
