Last night, when I tried to look at the To Do List on my 80 hour 240 (at
7.1b), the screen was blank for about 15 seconds (just the background and the
"loop"). Then, it went to the powering up screen. It completed the reboot and
everything was fine.
Being in product support for software for another hardware environment, I got
to thinking. Does TiVo collect any information when it "crashes" and then
upload it to them on the next phone connection? Assuming that the Kernel is
capable of collecting and recording information on a software crash (somewhat
akin to Window's Blue Screen of Death), this would be an excellent way for
TiVo to catch bugs in the field.
Does anyone know if TiVo was smart enough to build this capability in?
