Solved! Drive a pair of 8 ohm speakers from a 3.5mm headphone socket

Looking to add tower speakers to a soundbar

I am going to guess that the 3.5mm jack on the soundbar is an input not an output. Check the manual.
If it were an headphone output it would not power tower speakers loud enough. You would need an amplifier and maybe a speaker to line level adapter.

Thank you for your quick response, no headphone jack is only output socket on my soundbar, could you point me toward a suitable amp with 3.5mm input for my passive speakers?

Keep in mind if you wire something to that headphones jack on the sound bar, the soundbar will no longer produce sound without some additional DIY / voiding warranty
