About a month ago my laptop dropped from the couch to the hardwoods. After that for about a week, windows would crash about 2 times a day and eventually wouldn't boot.

My first thought was that it was the hard drive... but after installing a new one, Windows never gets past "expanding files" when trying to get the OS back on.

Display works. Ram and everything that should, shows up in the bios.

Really don't know what else it could be. It's a Toshiba L775D-S7304.

Is there anything else I can try? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

If the display still turns on I'm guessing the board is not what's damaged. The hard drive could have easily been damaged when dropped though, I have fried more than one HD-based iPod doing that.

My first guess would have been the hdd too since it has moving parts. But he said he replaced that and the issues are still there.

Going to be hard to say exactly what it is without digging into it.

That's the only thing I can think of too :/

Kind of a bummer because the bios still work and Toshiba still shows up. No real indication that it isn't working right.

Thanks for the help.
