DSR905 minimum requirements?

Just how useful is a DSR905 in a standalone setup? No analog receiver or
VCRS module! Don't need analog rx to position dish, plan to use a Vbox to
control actuator. How much FTA in DCII can be received without an analog
receiver? It seems authorization would be irrelevant w/o a VCRS module. I
want to wring as much FTA as possible from C-band. Already have a DVB rx
with 2 Ku feeds, will add BUD soon.

TIA
Mike

Not much useful.

You have to subscribe to something to have the dsr-905 authorized so you can
get guide and the free channels.

The vcrs module is for analog vc2+ subscription stations. It has nothing to
do the reception of dc2 4dtv stations.

Also,to authorize the dsr-905,update the channel maps, guide and subscribe to
stuff, one must have c band...ie: be able to tune in G0-101.

You need a BUD to get maps/IPG/hits and all, none of that comes from
Ku band. Yes, I belive you need a VCRS module ID to tie the DCII
subscription to.

Some programmers(mine is one) are including Travel (4dtv)and Animal
Planet(4dtv) along with Discovery and TLC..in the same pak...so a vc2+
module and subscription would be needed.
